Big and Bold Flower Workshop

A two and a half day mosaic workshop with Deanna Kernick

10am to 12.30pm Friday 27th August 2021
10am to 4pm Saturday 28th August 2021
10am to 4pm Sunday 29th August 2021
to be held at my Studio in Blackwood

Over the past 20 years I have been commissioned to create countless flower murals for clients who have wanted something big bold and colourful as a focal point in their gardens. These large detailed and colourful mosaics have been the key to my success as a mosaic artist.

At this two and a half day workshop you will learn the process of creating a larger than life flower mosaic. We will cover correct adhesives, substrates and hanging systems, design placement and colour choice, the importance of tone to create depth through light and shade and what style of mosaic to best suit your flower. We will choose the style and colour of your background, an important part of your mosaic that is often not thought about in the early design stage.

You will be taught the process of selecting a photo for your design through to reproducing it onto your backing board so that you can then begin to create a big bold and beautiful flower for your home or garden. As this is a 2.5 day workshop I do not expect you to complete your mosaic. I know for sure I couldn’t! You will however be given all the information to complete and hang your mosaic in your own time.

Cost: $370 plus a materials fee of $150. To secure a booking, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required. (If the workshop is cancelled deposits will be refunded.)

If you would prefer to bring your own supply of glass, I would need to check your colours first.

BYO tools, closed in shoes and protective eye wear.

To be held at my Studio in Blackwood, South Australia

For bookings, please call Deanna on 0412 366 049 or email

I hope to see you there!
