Over the past 23 years I have been commissioned to create countless flower murals for clients who have wanted something big, bold and colourful as a focal point in their gardens.
At this two and a half day workshop you will learn the process of creating a larger than life flower mosaic. We will cover correct adhesives, substrates and hanging systems, design placement and colour choice, the importance of tone to create depth through light and shade and what style of mosaic to best suit your flower. We will choose the style and colour of your background, an important part of your mosaic that is often not thought about in the early design stage.
You will be taught the process of selecting a photo for your design through to reproducing it onto your backing board so that you can then begin to create a big, bold and beautiful flower for your home or garden. As this is a 2.5 day workshop, I do not expect you to complete your mosaic. I know for sure I couldn’t! You will however be given all the information to complete and hang your mosaic in your own time.
On Friday 3rd May the workshop will begin by scaling your design on to paper. On the following Thursday 9th and Friday 10th May you will transfer your scaled up design onto the backing board and get stuck into your mosaic.
Cost: $450 plus a materials fee of $150. (A discount of 10% is offered to current students)
To secure a spot in the workshop, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required.
BYO tools, closed in shoes, protective eye wear and lunch.
