Last year, I had the privilege of attending a workshop in Piacenza, Italy, hosted by the incredibly talented Dino Macini. During that workshop, I created the sunset mosaic pictured above, and now my students have asked me to teach them how to create their own version. Thanks to Dino’s kind permission, I am excited to share everything I
learned with you. Due to the popularity of this workshop with my students there are only 3 spots available.
This two-day workshop will focus on creating a beautiful sunset mosaic using smalti and gold leaf. You’ll work on a 40cm x 35cm backing board, suitable for indoor display. I’ll guide you through the process, helping you with cutting techniques, colour gradation, and how to achieve texture.
Cost: $450 includes all materials, morning and afternoon tea
BYO lunch and tools (two-wheeled nippers, tweezers, dental pick / skewer), closed-in shoes and protective eyewear (prescription glasses are fine)

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place, with the balance payable on the day of the workshop
